Designer. Competitive cyclist. Donut enthusiast. 🍩
Human-centered problem solving is at the heart of everything I do. I prioritize creating thoughtful, lasting solutions and empowering people through design. I enjoy bringing order and efficiency to complex problems and shaping the entire direction of products. I’m known for my energy, tenacity, and love of vegan donuts.
Background
I’ve always been curious about people, their experiences, and their challenges. In high school I worked as editor of my school’s newspaper and led my school’s Model United Nations club, discovering people’s stories and exploring collaborative solutions to large problems. Previously, I worked at the at Fast Company and the ASPCA creating experiences with both in-house teams and partners (here are a few of my favorite projects).
In addition to experience strategy and design, my background includes content strategy, copywriting, analytics, and extensive work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. I’ve found the best products and outcomes develop from a shared understanding of why we’re creating and engaging multidisciplinary teams in the process.
Not Design
I love film and go to the movies at least twice per week.
My biggest project over the past three years was co-founded and leading Formula Femme, New York’s first women/trans/non-binary track cycling team. Through clinics, events, and mentorship, we doubled the number of WTFNB racers at our local velodrome each year and inspired more people around the world to try racing.
I handled everything from organizing rides and equipment for new racers to advocating for parity and inclusion at national events. Seeing our impact and growing a richer community inspired a deep commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and representation. You can listen to an interview here.
My leadership qualities grew immensely with the team. I worked on developing compassionate, personalized approaches to resolving conflicts, mentorship, and accountability, both on and off the track. Strategies may change mid-season or mid-race, but we learned each year to leverage each other’s evolving strengths.
I’m also passionate about helping women/trans/non-binary people share their stories as a writer and editor for Pretty Damned Fast.
